One Phone Call, A Whole New Version of Motherhood
Hey friend 💛 — today I’m sharing about Julie Bogart, founder of Brave Writer and one of the voices that shaped how I mother and homeschool.
Years ago, I emailed her a question and my phone rang from Ohio. It was Julie. I hid in the closet (two doors locked, moms you get it) and she talked me through the simplest, most freeing vision: real life is learning—groceries, library trips, conversations, paying at the register, noticing birds, reading aloud. More than tips, she gave me permission to trust the life we were living and the mom I already was.
That early encouragement carried me through hard health years and a lot of unknowns. Later, we met for dinner in Boise—twinkle lights, laughter, and the kind of kindness that feels like fuel. This is my thank you to Julie for believing in families, in kids, and in the slow, human pace of learning.
